Patristics

This course contains more than 50 lessons covering the most important figures in patristics, the study of the Father of the Church. It is intended to be a two year course with reading materials, online lectures and videos, and an optional short written requirement of 400 words per topic. The course takes a chronological approach and begins with an introduction to Patristics, before turning to some of the Fathers of the first century. The course continues through the following centuries in order, and concludes with several of the later and medieval Fathers who were important in the Oriental Orthodox communion. Father Peter Farrington is a priest of the Coptic Orthodox Church, serving in the Diocese of the Midlands under Anba Misael, and he has an MTS from Holy Sophia Coptic School of Theology, and an MTh from the University of Aberdeen. He has been a member of the Coptic Orthodox Church for 30 years, and a priest for 15 years.
